HCEF Presents ONLINE 2020 Education Celebration

The Henderson County Education Foundation (HCEF) is bringing good news to the community with an online Education Celebration, Thursday, May 14th at 7:00 PM. Each year, HCEF holds an Education Celebration event to honor Henderson County’s Teachers & Principal of the Year and to induct individuals into the Education Hall of Fame. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, the event will be held online this year.

The online celebration will be hosted by Summer Stipe, Executive Director of HCEF, and Dr. John Bryant, Associate Superintendent of Henderson County Public Schools (HCPS). The event features the three new inductees of the Education Hall of Fame along with 23 Teachers of the Year and the Principal of the Year. Viewers will enjoy footage from the Flat Rock Playhouses’s Letterland Alive! project, a performance from HCPS orchestra students, highlights of HCEF’s 2019-2020 programming, and a surprise appearance from a local celebrity. Instructions for viewing the event can be found below.

While viewing the event is free, viewers can purchase a “ticket” to attend as a donation to the Foundation. Proceeds help support educational excellence in Henderson County Public Schools and allows the Foundation to continue meeting emerging needs that arise during school closure.

Event sponsors include Presenting Sponsor: AdventHealth, Hall of Fame Sponsor: Vannoy Construction, Outstanding Educators Sponsor: Blue Ridge Orthodontics, Leaders Sponsors: Alcova Mortgage, Carolina Alliance Bank, Duke Energy, Formation PR and Brand, LS3P Associates Ltd., Curt and Sue Marker, PFA Architects, PA, Novus Architects, UNC-Asheville, and All Star Sponsors: Campbell and Shatley, Carland and Andersen, Carolina Farm Credit, and Young Office.
