SUPPORTING STEM

HCEF supports STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and math) by sponsoring professional learning for educators, outdoor learning expeditions aligned with the NC Science Standards for all 5th graders, and mobile STEM labs for middle and high schoolers.

SUPPORTING OUTDOOR EDUCATION

HCEF supports hands-on outdoor learning experiences that connect students to the outdoor spaces in their backyards. These experiences provide intentional opportunities for students to learn in an interdisciplinary way that enhances classroom learning and incorporates exploration and active play into learning.

SPRING FUND

Spring Fund gives all 23 HCPS Principals $1,000 each year in discretionary funds to meet the day to day emergency needs of their most vulnerable students.
