Food for Thought
To our Valued Restaurant Partners Across Henderson County
It’s hard to believe a plate of food or a small appetizer could do so much. But thanks to you, it has.
For the last six years, our restaurant community has faithfully and generously supported the annual Food for Thought Campaign to support local public education. By dining in or taking out at your restaurants for just one week a year, you and the patrons of your restaurants have supported:
- the needs of our most vulnerable students
- post-secondary scholarships to graduating seniors
- instructional support for arts and music education
- HCPS curriculum needs – literacy & STEM, and
- the introduction and expansion of Leader in Me throughout Henderson County Public Schools
Even during the challenging times of the last nearly two years, you have continued to serve and support the local economy in so many ways. We see you and we value what you mean to the community.
To that end, we remain sensitive and compassionate to the rigors many of you continue to face due to stress on the labor and supply chain. Therefore, after careful consideration, the board of directors for the Henderson County Education Foundation has decided to hit the pause button on the annual Food for Thought Campaign for 2022 in the hope that it will take one less thing off your already full plates!
Information on the 2023 event will be announced in the fall of 2022.
