Experience Hands On Learning in Fiber Arts on January 30, 2016 at Historic Johnson Farm from 10 until 3. Various Fiber Artists will be available to demonstrate their crafts and to allow visitors the opportunity to try their crafts. Instructors will be demonstrating weaving on various looms, crocheting, knitting, spinning, rug hooking, bobbin lace, and basket making. In addition to opportunities to try the crafts, there will be an opportunity to sign up for one of the 43 classes being offered by the Heritage Weavers & Fiber Artists during 2016. No charge for this event, just come and have fun.Heritage Weavers & Fiber Artists provide an opportunity for new and experienced fiber artists of all ages to explore techniques of various fiber crafts. Through HWFA’s collaboration with Historic Johnson Farm and the Blue Ridge Mountain Heritage Area the boarding house has been transformed into a fiber arts center.
